The Deal
Rosemary received an email at 8:22 p.m. on a Thursday night with the re: “Urgent local counsel help for a fellow CREW Member” from Sarah Armendariz, an attorney with Dentons in Kansas City, MO. Her message read in part: “I am a fellow CREW member in Kansas City and am hoping you might be able to help us out. We are in urgent need of a local counsel opinion for a multistate financing involving property in Pennsylvania. By urgent, we need the opinion by the end of the day tomorrow.” Rosemary received the email when she was leaving an event, and within the hour, she emailed Sarah that she would be happy to help.
After clearing conflicts the next day, Rosemary reviewed the documents and had the opinion letter issued by the close of business on Friday. Because of Rosemary’s involvement on that transaction, she ended up on the local counsel list for a related financing and ended up acting as Pennsylvania local counsel on the second transaction.
