The Deal

Four CREW Philadelphia firms, Avison Young, Heckendorn Shiles Architects, Wick Fisher White and Rethink Innovations partnered on a corporate office renovation for Essity, the global hygiene and health company with North American headquarters in the Cira Centre in downtown Philadelphia. Essity (fka SCA) wanted to modify their existing space on the 24th, 25th and 26th floors to accommodate projected workforce growth and to better align the workspace with their corporate vision by:

  • Establishing a dynamic and creative atmosphere
  • Being responsive to Business Units wants/needs
  • Prioritizing critical adjacencies
  • Promoting an open and efficient layout
  • Reinforcing culture and brand
  • Creating flexible and adaptable workplace solutions

Spaces on all three floors were reconfigured to accommodate these needs and the project was selectively phased to enable Essity to continue its full operations during construction.

Working as a collaborative extension of the Essity’s facilities team, we helped to define the path for their office evolution to meet their wants/needs. In the end, the workspace reflected Essity’s global brand and identity, employed strategies to create memorable workplace experiences, and devised creative solutions to allow for a 15% employee growth without increasing the tenant area.
